Boys Brigade meets here at CUBC on Wednesday nights from 6:00 p.m to 7:30 p.m. during the school year.
All boys in grades 1-6 are welcome to attend
Here is what we have been doing this year:
Bible study and devotionals: The older boys have been participating in a bible study. They are currently studying the teachings of Jesus in the book of Mark. Our devotionals in which all the boys participate have included topics such as The Ten Commandments, worship, evangelism, prayer, and salvation.
The Woodworking Shop: The boys completed a wood project which they gave to their parents as a Christmas gift. Each boy was able to choose between building a shoe rack or a shelf unit. The boys will now start building pinewood derby cars for the annual race.
Other Projects: The older boys have also learned about bicycle maintenance and safety, wiring an electrical plug, knot tying, and more to come. The younger boys have competed in obstacle courses while studying bible verses and have made paper airplanes.
Games: We have played dodgeball, baseball, and human bowling.
We also just had a Christmas party in which the boys participated in a yankee swap. Our first field trip this year was a roller skating night with the Pioneer Girls.
February 9, 2008- Our tubing trip at Big Rock in Mars Hill! Several of the boys and leaders had a great time tubing along with a hot dog roast with no reported injuries- Praise the Lord!
Christian Service Brigade Derby Race
Wednesday, May 7th, 6:00 p.m. (Note: No Prayer Meeting that night)
Here the boys are learning to wire an electrical plug. "No guys, we are not going to plug them in and see if they work"
Here are the boys taking some flying lessons. (The FAA would only allow us to use paper airplanes.)
That's a big sander for a little guy!
